Portsmouth and Isle of Wight branches are sold to EE Glass

Glassolutions has sold its Portsmouth and Isle of Wight branches to EE Glass Ltd, with effect from 1st January 2019.

Established in 1995, EE Glass is a leading manufacturer of energy efficient, insulated glass products, based in Portsmouth. It is an independent, family-owned business committed to delivering the highest levels of product quality and service to its customers. It serves the south coast of England from Dorset to East Sussex.

Tim Barnes, Glassolutions’ Managing Director – Downstream Glass – Building Glass UK & I said: “The Portsmouth site predominately focuses on toughened glass production, whilst the Isle of Wight site offers a full range of glass options, and both deliver a great service for their local markets. Following a strategic review, we felt that a more local focus and support from EE Glass would enable both branches to continue to grow, and strategically provide a great support for each other.

“The Glassolutions brand will not be sold as part of this acquisition and the two branches will re-brand under EE Glass. Within Glassolutions we are committed to building a strong business that can support our customers with a wide range of glass products, and we continue to grow and improve this offer.

“The sale of these two branches will not affect customers who purchase from any of our other Glassolutions sites based throughout the UK
